The cottage as purchased in 2015 was in very usable condition. However, it was decided that a third bedroom and
second bathroom would be nice. Checking with the Rideau Lakes township offices it was determined that the
cottage was already too large for the lot size and too close to the water for any additions. It was then decided to
work with the existing cottage floorspace. Some of the space in the existing bathroom would be used to create a
small second bathroom, and some of the closet space in the master bedroom would be removed to provide a better
layout in the bedroom. The bedroom was modified in the summer of 2017.
Improvement to the cottage property has already started in that decks have been added to aid in the usability of the
property without detracting from its natural beauty. A sunroom on the porch has been added where a metal frame
and tarp pavilion previously sat. This adds some transitional space between the indoor and outdoor environments.
In addition an existing shed was modified to provide a hobby house as well as storage.
Even further down the road is the possibilty of a gazebo somewhere on the property.
